“Eat the vegetables Tanu.” her mother chided softly. “You know what will happen if you dont…”
“There is no such thing as ghosts… I am thirteen years old now.” she giggled and left the leafy vegetables untouched.
Just like that she ignored mom when she told her to light a candle on the door that lead to the garden from her bedroom.
Late at night a nudging woke her up.
A woman was sitting on her bed, her face covered in veil, “Are you Tanu?” she asked.
“Who are you?” she asked to startled to scream, “How ….” she wanted to ask how could she enter her locked room.
The woman gestured to the door to garden, wide open. Tanu was certain that she has locked the door, there was no question of not doing that!
“I was passing by the window when you told your mother that we dont exist… so I thought that I will let you know that we do.” the woman laughed.
